Ukraine Submits Official Response to U.S. Peace Plan
World
Ukraine has sent the U.S. administration its official response containing comments and amendments to Washington’s latest peace plan aimed at ending the war.
According to sources cited by Axios, the detailed document was prepared and delivered by National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov, who heads Ukraine’s negotiating team. The primary recipient was Jared Kushner, senior adviser and son-in-law to U.S. President Donald Trump.
Before submitting the paper, Kyiv held several days of consultations with key European partners — the United Kingdom, France, and Germany. Ukraine developed new proposals on two crucial issues: territorial matters and the status of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, which remains under Russian control.
On the evening of December 10, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that, based on the 20-point U.S. peace plan, two additional strategic documents regarding future Ukraine–U.S. relations are being prepared. He added that the first meeting of the working group on Ukraine’s economic recovery had already taken place, with Jared Kushner, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, and BlackRock CEO Larry Fink participating from the American side.
According to Axios, senior military representatives of Ukraine and the United States are expected to hold a virtual meeting on December 11 to continue discussing the American peace proposal.
