Economy
Uzbekistan is taking another step towards becoming a regional financial hub. The Senate of the Oliy Majlis has approved the Constitutional Law “On the Tashkent International Financial Centre”, establishing a special financial territory designed to attract international capital and develop modern financial infrastructure.
The centre will operate under a special legal regime based on the principles of the common law of England and Wales. An independent Tashkent International Commercial Court will be established to resolve disputes.
Participants will benefit from tax incentives until 2076, the ability to conduct settlements in various currencies, including transactions involving digital assets, special visa arrangements for foreign specialists and additional guarantees for property protection.
The centre will cover international banking, securities, insurance, Islamic finance, fintech and digital assets.
By 2030, the Tashkent International Financial Centre is expected to attract an additional $20–25 billion in investment and create up to 15,000 jobs, strengthening Uzbekistan’s position in the regional financial market.
