Uzbek Athletes Face Tough Opponents in Brazil

Uzbekistan’s boxers continue to make their mark in the global ring! The World Cup in Brazil is in full swing, and our athletes have already secured several impressive victories. Some fights ended early, while others turned into real tests for the fighters.
One of the most exciting bouts featured Mirazizbek Mirzahalilov (55 kg) against Polish boxer Nikolas Pavlik. In the very first round, Mirzahalilov knocked his opponent down, but Pavlik managed to continue the fight. However, the Uzbek boxer kept landing precise punches and confidently secured the victory.
In a tough match, Javohir Ummataliyev (80 kg) defeated American boxer Robby Gonzales with a close 3:2 score, earning another crucial win for the national team and advancing to the next stage of the tournament.
However, not all fights ended in favor of the Uzbek fighters. Asadkhoja Moidin-khojaev (65 kg) lost to Brazilian host fighter Yuri Reis, while Iqboljon Kholdorov (70 kg) was defeated by England’s representative, Odel Kamara.
