Uzbek farms' production of animal products in three months revealed

The press service of the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan has presented the exact volumes of meat, milk, eggs and fish products produced in Uzbekistan in the first three months of this year.
According to preliminary data, in January-March 2024, across the republic, farms produced 28,586 tons of live weight meat (120.0%, compared to January-March 2023), 129,975 tons of milk (127.4%), 244,904 thousand pieces of eggs (117.0%), and caught 6,669.5 tons of fish (134.0%).
It should be noted that according to the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the following tasks have been identified for the development of the livestock sector for the period 2022-2026:
— A system of cooperation between livestock and dekhan farms will be established.
— The volume of milk production will be increased from 11.5 million tons to 22 million tons and from 328 to 560 kilograms per capita by 2026. Beef production (live weight) will reach 2,864,000 tons, and sheep and goat meat - 650,000 tons.
— The share of purebred high-yielding cattle in the total cattle population will be increased from 9 percent to 33 percent, and improved domestic cattle - from 54 percent to 90 percent;
— The yield of major feed crops for livestock will be increased: alfalfa - from 10 tons to 20 tons and silage corn - from 32 tons to 70 tons. The degraded areas of pasture lands in our republic will be reduced from 70 to 50 percent.
