The new system will move away from the pre-market model, under which products are checked before being placed on the market, toward post-market surveillance, which focuses on products already in circulation. The approach is based on international practice and risk-based oversight. If customs controls identify grounds to believe that a product does not meet mandatory requirements, its release for free circulation may be suspended. The market surveillance authority must then examine the product within three working days. Where necessary, samples may be taken for expert assessment or testing. The law also provides for a clearer division of responsibilities among state bodies for specific categories of products. This is intended to reduce duplicated inspections and prevent unjustified interference in business activities. Businesses will be able to participate in market surveillance procedures, review relevant documents, record inspectors&rsquo; actions in audio and video, and challenge decisions and actions taken by supervisory authorities. Uzbekistan’s Senate has approved the Law “On Market Surveillance,” paving the way for a transition to an international model of monitoring the safety of non-food products after they enter the market. The legislation is designed to strengthen the responsibility of manufacturers, importers and sellers while enhancing consumer protection.

Michael Guetlein said the companies are now moving to the next phase: demonstrating that their technologies can operate in space. Guetlein officially serves as Director of Golden Dome for America and oversees the $185 billion program.
