Uzbekistan and EBRD Partnership Reaches a New Stage

In Brussels, Saida Mirziyoyeva, Head of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan, met with Odile Renaud-Basso, President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The sides discussed new directions for cooperation and acknowledged that reforms and openness under President Shavkat Mirziyoyev have elevated bilateral relations to a new qualitative level.

Mirziyoyeva highlighted large-scale infrastructure projects in irrigation and the green economy being implemented with the support of the EBRD. She also emphasized the importance of the “Women in Business” and “Youth in Business” programs, which are empowering women and young entrepreneurs across the country.

Special attention was given to joint initiatives in Karakalpakstan aimed at sustainable regional development.

Both sides agreed that thanks to the shared commitment of Central Asian nations to good neighborly relations, the region has achieved a stronger atmosphere of trust and cooperation. Mirziyoyeva expressed confidence that partnership with the EBRD will continue contributing to the prosperity of Uzbekistan and the wider region.
