Uzbekistan and UNESCO Strengthen Partnership for the Future

In Samarkand, Chairperson of the Art and Culture Development Foundation of Uzbekistan Gayane Umerova met with the elected Director-General of UNESCO, Khaled El-Enany. The parties discussed ways to enhance cooperation and implement the initiatives proposed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the 43rd session of UNESCO’s General Conference.
During the meeting, Gayane Umerova, Chairperson of the Art and Culture Development Foundation under the Administration of the President of Uzbekistan, and Khaled El-Enany, the elected Director-General of UNESCO, discussed prospects for strengthening cooperation between Uzbekistan and UNESCO.
Special attention was given to expanding collaboration across all areas of UNESCO’s mandate — including education, science, culture, information, and the preservation of intangible heritage.
The sides emphasized the importance of joint work on implementing the initiatives presented by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the 43rd session of UNESCO’s General Conference, particularly those aimed at fostering intercultural dialogue, supporting youth and educational programs, and advancing cultural diplomacy.
The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of both sides to deepen strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and UNESCO.
