Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia Expand Cooperation in Green Energy

On November 11, during the Arab-Islamic summit in Riyadh, Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Energy, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman Al Saud. The discussion focused on expanding cooperation between the two countries in the green energy sector.
President Mirziyoyev highlighted Uzbekistan’s productive collaboration with ACWA Power, a leading Saudi company actively involved in modernizing Uzbekistan's energy sector through investments and advanced technologies, including major solar and wind power projects.
The talks also covered accelerating green hydrogen production projects as part of Uzbekistan's broader renewable energy strategy. Green energy development promises not only environmental benefits but also significant economic advantages for Uzbekistan.
An agreement was reached to involve Saudi Arabian companies and consultants in Uzbekistan’s energy localization efforts and efficiency improvement processes, further strengthening the partnership between the two countries.
