The new agreements are expected to boost bilateral trade, increase exports and imports, and support the countries' goal of reaching $5 billion in annual trade turnover.

The agreements were discussed during the official visit of a Turkish delegation led by Deputy Minister of Trade Mustafa Tuzcu. As part of the visit, the Uzbekistan–Türkiye Working Group on the Preferential Trade Agreement held a meeting co-chaired by Uzbekistan's Deputy Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade Akram Aliyev and Mustafa Tuzcu.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the expansion of the list of goods eligible for preferential trade treatment on a reciprocal basis. Following the third round of negotiations, the parties reached a mutual understanding and agreed to include additional product categories reflecting the interests of both countries.

The outcomes were formalized through the signing of a joint protocol. The expanded preferential trade list is expected to stimulate bilateral commerce, create new opportunities for exporters and importers, and contribute to achieving the strategic target of $5 billion in bilateral trade while further deepening economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Türkiye.
