Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan are expanding strategic partnership

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with the National Leader of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. During the conversation, key issues of bilateral cooperation, the development of regional partnership, and preparations for important international forums were discussed.
The leaders exchanged Navruz greetings and expressed their desire to further strengthen the friendly and strategic relations. It was noted that in 2024, mutual trade turnover exceeded $1 billion, and cooperation is actively developing in industry, energy, transport, and agriculture.
Special attention was paid to the creation of the "Shovot - Dashoguz" border trade zone and the strengthening of cultural and humanitarian exchange. The leaders also discussed preparations for the "Central Asia Plus" summit in Samarkand and the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State in Tashkent.
President Mirziyoyev emphasized the importance of the Forum in Ashgabat, which will be held in December as part of the International Year of Peace and Trust, declared at the initiative of Turkmenistan.
The talks confirmed the high dynamics of Uzbek-Turkmen cooperation and the desire to further strengthen good-neighborly relations.
