As part of an experiment, Uzbekistan is closing several customs posts and temporarily suspending some MED posts.
The customs post “Bobotog” and border posts “Uchkurgan,” “Pop,” “Rovot,” “Rishtan,” and “Bekabad Auto” will be closed. Vehicle inspections at these points will temporarily be carried out exclusively by border troops.
In addition, the activities of the remote electronic declaration (MED) system will be suspended in Andijan, Bukhara, Namangan, Samarkand, Tashkent, and Fergana regions. The reorganization aims to improve the efficiency of customs operations and speed up cargo clearance processes.
