Uzbekistan Establishes Creative Economy Development Council

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev approved measures to support creative industries, including the establishment of a Republican Council for Creative Economy Development.
The new council will be headed by the Director of the Culture and Arts Development Foundation and the Presidential Department for Creative Economy and Tourism Gayane Umerova.
The council will consist of 15 members, including the Minister of Digital Development Sherzod Shermatov, Minister of Culture Ozodbek Nazarbekov, and Minister of Justice Akbar Tashkulov.
The new body will develop proposals for defining creative economy activities, identify growth areas, attract investments, strengthen export potential, and promote Uzbek creative businesses in global markets.
Special attention will be given to content monetization, intellectual property protection, development of creative parks, and improvement of professional training in the industry.
The council will also promote cooperation between the state, private sector, and non-governmental organizations in the creative industry.
