The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan has issued an official statement regarding reports about the alleged restriction of the Uzbek language in Afghanistan. To clarify the situation, Uzbek officials contacted their Afghan counterparts.

In Kabul, authorities stated that the information about limiting the use of the Uzbek language is not true. The Afghan MFA emphasized the respect of the Afghan people for their brotherly Uzbek nation and its language.

Additionally, Afghan officials noted that, for the first time in history, a Faculty of Uzbek Language and Literature is planned to be opened at Jauzjan State University, marking an important step in the development of education and culture for the Uzbek community in Afghanistan.
