Uzbekistan native dies in rocket strike on Israeli construction site

A man born in Uzbekistan was killed in a rocket strike on a construction site in the city of Yehud, Israel. The information was confirmed by the press service of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Israel.
The incident occurred on March 9. According to the diplomatic mission, the victim was a 62-year-old man identified as R.G., who was born and raised in Uzbekistan.
In 2017, he renounced his citizenship of Uzbekistan and had been living in Israel for the past 14 years, where he obtained Israeli citizenship.
According to media reports, the man moved to Israel after his son, who had previously repatriated and served in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). At the time of the rocket strike, R.G. was inspecting something at the construction site together with a colleague.
He is survived by his wife, son, daughter, and four grandchildren.
The Uzbek embassy also reported that as of March 11, no information had been received about injured citizens of Uzbekistan as a result of the incident.
Diplomats urged compatriots temporarily working or permanently residing in Israel to take air raid alerts seriously and strictly follow safety instructions.
