Uzbekistan performed brilliantly in the match against Turkmenistan in the qualifying round for the 2026 World Cup

The Uzbekistan National Team secured victory over the Turkmenistan team in the qualifying stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, as reported by the Uzbekistan NOC press service.
The score of the match was 3-1 in favour of the Uzbek footballers.
"Our national footballers, who had already decisively resolved the issue of the 3rd qualifying stage of the World Cup, once again managed to defeat their opponents. This time, Uzbekistan defeated Turkmenistan representatives with a score of 3-1. The national team of our country, having accumulated 13 points in total, shares first and second place with Iran," the committee's statement said.
Goals were scored by H. Alikulov (17th minute), O. Urunov (29th minute), and Sh. Nasrullaev (71st minute) for Uzbekistan, while Sh. Tirkishev responded with the only goal for the Turkmenistan team in the 25th minute.
It is worth reminding that today an international friendly match between Uzbekistan and Mali (U23) will be held. The match will start at 19:00 at the Bunyodkor stadium in Tashkent.
