Political
Bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Germany are reaching a new level of strategic dialogue: on June 17–18, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier will pay an official visit to the country. During the visit, the German leader, accompanied by his spouse, will hold talks with President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev in narrow and expanded formats. The key focus of the agenda is on deepening multifaceted interaction across the most promising sectors of the economy.
The parties will pay special attention to expanding cooperation in trade, industrial cooperation, energy, and the implementation of "green" technologies. The list of priority topics also includes the transport and logistics complex, the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, and agriculture. A significant portion of the negotiations will be devoted to intensifying educational and humanitarian exchanges. Following the meetings, plans are in place to launch a number of new joint programs and sign a package of documents intended to provide a powerful impetus to the development of mutually beneficial partnership between the two countries.
