Uzbekistan sends humanitarian aid to Kazakhstan residents affected by floods

In accordance with the instruction of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Uzbekistan has sent humanitarian aid to the Republic of Kazakhstan for flood victims. This was reported by the press service of Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov.

It is reported that the Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution focusing on organisational issues related to the formation and delivery of humanitarian aid cargoes to their destination.

The cargo of humanitarian aid will be delivered to the Republic of Kazakhstan by a working group under the leadership of Advisor to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan T. Khudaibergenov.

The humanitarian aid in 15 heavy-duty trucks includes food, clothes for children and adults, mattresses, blankets, pillows, hygiene products, tents with special equipment, sets of rubber boats and other necessary goods.

In Kazakhstan, more than 60 settlements remained cut off from the outside world as a result of the large-scale flooding, and more than 96,000 residents were evacuated from the disaster zones. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev called it the biggest disaster in Kazakhstan in the last 80 years.
