Uzbekistan Sets Priorities for 2027 CIS Chairmanship

Uzbekistan has begun preparations for its 2027 chairmanship of the Commonwealth of Independent States. In Minsk, Igor Petrishenko, First Deputy Secretary General of the CIS, met with Nuriddin Mamajonov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Republic of Belarus.
The sides reviewed the main areas of Uzbekistan’s upcoming chairmanship, the continuation of integration initiatives and the implementation of previously adopted decisions.
They also discussed Uzbekistan’s priorities in multilateral cooperation within the Commonwealth, as well as the integration of the country’s interests into the CIS-wide agenda.
The preparations reflect Uzbekistan’s forthcoming role as CIS chair in 2027, which is also confirmed by current materials from the CIS Executive Committee.
