Uzbekistan Strengthens Cooperation with Turkmenistan in Transport, Transit, and Communications

In Ashgabat, key issues of Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan cooperation in the fields of transport, transit, and communications were discussed. Uzbekistan’s Ambassador Ravshanbek Alimov held talks with Mammetkhan Chakiyev, Director General of the Transport and Communications Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, pressing matters related to cooperation in transport, transit, and communications were addressed.
In recent years, the positive dynamics and significant activation of trade and economic relations between the two countries have been noted. This underscores the necessity of enhancing mutually beneficial cooperation to further develop transport infrastructure, improve tariff and regulatory policies, and create favorable conditions for international cargo transportation.
It was specifically highlighted that the strategic partners, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan, should actively participate in several multilateral international projects aimed at forming new transcontinental and multimodal transport corridors by efficiently utilizing their existing infrastructure.
