Football in Central Asia is reaching a new level: three countries have joined forces to host the continent's main tournament. The Asian Football Confederation has already begun considering the candidates.
Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan have submitted a joint bid to host the 2021 Asian Cup, hoping to host the region's largest football tournament for the first time.
In recent years, the countries of Central Asia have been actively developing sports infrastructure. In Uzbekistan, stadiums in Tashkent, Namangan, Fergana, and Qarshi have been modernized, and experience has been gained in organizing U20 and U23 tournaments and the World Futsal Championship.
However, to successfully apply, countries must not only prove the readiness of their arenas but also create comfortable conditions for fans, improve transportation and hotel infrastructure.
The AFC is studying all the candidates, if Central Asia can get the right to host the Cup, it will be a historic event for the region
