Tashkent judo tournament: Uzbekistan takes gold

Yesterday, 1 March, Uzbek judoka Doston Ruziyev won gold at the Tashkent Grand Slam 2024 tournament. This was reported by the press service of the National Olympic Committee (NOC).

It is noted that Ruziyev is the first Uzbek athlete to win a medal for the republic's overall collection at the Grand Slam tournament.

"Doston Ruziyev, a member of the Uzbek national judo team, won the first medal of our compatriots at the Grand Slam tournament in Tashkent. In the final fight in the weight category up to 60kg, the Uzbek judoka defeated the World Championship medallist, Georgian Giorgi Sardalashvili and won the gold medal," the NOC said.

Recall that the Grand Slam 2024 tournament takes place 1-3 March in Tashkent. It is attended by 495 athletes from 68 countries.
