In 2024, Uzbekistan achieved record figures in freight transportation - the volume of transported cargo amounted to 1.52 billion tons. This is the highest result in the last five years, which indicates the stable development of the country's transport industry and economy.

Uzbekistan updated its maximum freight volume
According to the National Statistics Committee, the volume of cargo transportation in Uzbekistan in 2024 increased by 11% compared to 2020, when 1.37 billion tons were transported.

The largest contribution was made by road transport - it provided 92% of all transportation, which is 1.4 billion tons. Rail transport transported 73.9 million tons (4.9%), pipeline transport - 61.8 million tons (4.1%). Air transport, although occupying less than 0.001% of the transportation structure, remains important for the delivery of urgent and valuable goods, transporting 14.4 thousand tons.

The growth in cargo transportation is due to the expansion of logistics infrastructure, increased trade turnover, and economic recovery. Experts note that Uzbekistan is strengthening its position as a key logistics hub in Central Asia.

The development of transport infrastructure, including the modernization of railway networks, the construction of highways, and the expansion of airports, will contribute to the further growth of transportation and the strengthening of the country's international trade relations.
