The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov, stated the necessity of maintaining borders and refraining from interfering in each other’s internal affairs.
“There was a comprehensive discussion on the current issues of our strategic partnership and preparations for upcoming high-level events,” he wrote on his Telegram channel.
According to Saidov, the agenda for cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia traditionally remains broad and covers all areas.
“The importance of adhering to the principle of non-interference in each other's internal affairs for strengthening mutual trust was highlighted. We agreed to continue our ongoing dialogue in the spirit of alliance,” added the head of Uzbekistan's Foreign Ministry.
Earlier, a teacher in a Tashkent school assaulted a student for addressing her in Russian. During the incident, she stated that “Uzbekistan is a country for Uzbeks, and the others should leave.”
In connection with this, the Russian Foreign Ministry sent a representation to the Uzbek ambassador. The official representative of the Russian diplomatic office, Maria Zakharova, called on the Uzbek authorities to assess the incident.
