Uzbekistan's Gas Imports Quadruple

Uzbekistan imported over $800 million worth of gas in the first half of 2024, according to the Statistics Agency.
From January to June 2024, Uzbekistan imported $809.5 million worth of gas, a fourfold increase compared to the same period last year.
Additionally, Uzbekistan exported $241.4 million worth of natural gas, which is 13.3% less than in January-June 2023.
In June alone, the country imported $166.3 million worth of gas and exported $181.5 million. These figures indicate a significant rise in gas imports and a slight decrease in exports.
These shifts in the country's gas trade could further develop the energy sector and strengthen its position in international markets.
