Uzbekistan's sewing traditions presented in Baku

The exhibition " Heritage in Stitches: A Journey Through Embroidery and Sewing Traditions of Uzbekistan" opened at the Heydar Aliyev Centre in the capital of Azerbaijan, March 17, displaying more than 140 exhibits of arts and crafts.

Assistant to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Saida Mirziyoyeva and First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva attended the opening of the exhibition.

Suzane is embroidered for months. Each embroidered flower and ornament contains special meanings and messages.

"I hope that our traditional gold embroidered chapans, colourful suzanes and silver jewellery with precious stones will make a lasting impression on visitors.

From the bottom of my heart I would like to thank the museum specialists and everyone who took part in organising this exhibition," - Saida Mirziyoyeva wrote on her social media pages.
