Now, being in public places with one's face covered to the extent that one cannot be identified faces a fine of 10 to 15 times the amount of the fine (3,300,000 to 4,950,000 sums). This is stated in the law signed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

According to the document, except in cases when, for medical reasons or in special headgear worn to ensure road safety, or in cases related to labour and official activities, or during sporting and cultural events, participants in these events must wear face coverings, as well as in other cases expressly permitted by law.

Also propaganda of discrimination on the basis of sex, including open denial of equal rights of women and men, dissemination of views, ideas or appeals to this effect, as well as public justification of such behaviour and (or) encouragement shall be punishable by a fine of 10 to 20 times. (from 3 million 300 thousand to 6 million 600 thousand sums).
