Republicans blocked a $106 billion package that would have provided aid to Ukraine and Israel, among other things. The White House said Russia could gain an advantage if Congress does not act quickly.

White House warns it is ‘out of money’ to aid Ukraine
The USA is running out of time and money to help Ukraine fight the Russian invasion if Congress does not approve a new spending package. This was reported by the White House.

In October, the Biden administration asked Congress to approve a $106 billion (98 billion euros) package to fund aid to Ukraine and Israel as well as border security, but the Republican-controlled House of Representatives voted to reject it.

In a letter to House Speaker Shalanda Young, President Joe Biden's budget director, said time is running out for aid to Ukraine.

"We are out of money — and nearly out of time," she wrote.

"I want to be clear: without congressional action, by the end of the year we will run out of resources to procure more weapons and equipment for Ukraine," she added.

It has been reported that cutting off supplies of US weapons and equipment would bring Ukraine to its knees on the battlefield, not only jeopardising the gains Ukraine has made, but also increasing the likelihood of Russian military victories.

White House national security spokesman Jake Sullivan said Russia could prevail if the package is not passed soon.
