Windows 12 won't be available for everyone
Technology
An AI system requires a processor with an NPU to be fully functional.
According to Windows Central, Windows 12 will be released in the second half of 2024 and the focus will be on AI.
It is noted that artificial intelligence will be integrated at a system-wide level, and will require advanced processors with a neural NPU processor to be fully functional.
Owners of computers that do not have a dedicated NPU will also be able to install Windows 12, but will not be able to use all the features of the new operating system.
It is reported that only modern PC users with AMD and Intel processors will be able to fully utilise all the new features.
