Young champions awarded state awards

The President of Uzbekistan signed a decree on awarding the football players and coaches of the U-17 national team who won the Asian Cup, as well as journalists who contributed to the popularization of sports. The victory in the hard-fought final against Saudi Arabia brought the players high state awards.
The team's head coach, Islambek Ismailov, was awarded the honorary title of "Honored Coach of Uzbekistan" for his outstanding contribution to the development of football and the education of a young generation of athletes.
Fourteen football players received the "Kelajak Bunyodkori" medal for their professionalism, heroism, and dedication during the tournament. Their game became a symbol of will to win and courage: in the final, the team played the entire second half in a minority - nine versus eleven - and still secured a convincing 2:0 victory.
State awards were also presented to representatives of sports journalism. The "Shuhrat" medal was awarded to Otabek Juraev, a leading specialist of the NTRC's Sport creative association, and Orifjon Tolipov, editor of the "Football TV" channel.
