Zelenskyy Makes First Official Visit to Serbia as Belgrade and Kyiv Discuss Economy, EU and Security

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has made his first official visit to Serbia, holding talks with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić. The two sides discussed bilateral relations, economic cooperation, European integration and security issues.
According to the Serbian side, the visit comes as Belgrade seeks to maintain working relations with Kyiv while preserving its own foreign-policy position. Vučić stressed that Zelenskyy’s visit does not represent a change in Serbia’s position on sanctions against Russia.
Economic cooperation was among the key issues discussed. The two sides are considering prospects for expanding bilateral ties, including cooperation in the energy sector and further development of trade relations.
The European agenda also featured prominently in the talks. Serbia continues its path toward European Union membership, while Ukraine is also pursuing European integration. The meeting included discussions on opportunities for cooperation in this area.
Security issues were another part of the agenda. At the same time, reports about possible joint production of drones in Serbia remain based on information from foreign media and have not been confirmed as an agreed outcome of the talks.
The visit marks Zelenskyy’s first official trip to Serbia and comes as Belgrade seeks to develop relations simultaneously with European partners, Kyiv and Moscow.
