2025 - Year of Environmental Protection and "Green" Economy
In his speech, the President noted that today, not only Uzbekistan, but many countries around the world are clearly feeling the negative consequences of climate change.

Pollution of air and water, soil erosion, desertification, and the excessive use of fossil fuels lead to global warming, an increase in natural disasters, and harm to the environment and public health.

In response, three years ago, our country launched the national initiative "Green Country." Together with neighboring countries, the Regional Climate Strategy was implemented.

In our capital, the Central Asia University for Environmental Studies and Climate Change was established.

Additionally, Uzbekistan became the initiator of two important resolutions adopted by the United Nations on these issues. Currently, "green" energy is becoming one of the drivers of our economy.

After studying the views and wishes of our people, and based on the suggestions received, the President proposed declaring 2025 the "Year of Environmental Protection and 'Green' Economy" in order to take these efforts to a new, higher level.

According to UZA, the attendees fully supported this initiative.
