Today, 12 February, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev chaired a video conference call on harnessing new reserves and priority tasks in agriculture. It was noted that in conditions of limited land and water resources, agricultural managers need to make significant changes in their method of work this year.

It was criticised that some leaders and governors are not doing enough to reduce costs, ensure supply of high-yielding seeds and seedlings, and develop imports of industrial inputs.

It was emphasised that it is important to further increase cotton and grain yields this year by supplying high-yielding seeds to districts and training farmers in new agro-technologies.

Besides, a task has been set to provide agriculture with 900 thousand tonnes of mineral fertilisers, reducing the cost of fertilisers by 15%.
