Melba Mebein, 90, has retired after a distinguished 74-year career as a shop assistant at Dillard's in Tyler, Texas. It was reported by the Mirror.
It is noted that she had never missed a day's work or fallen ill during her entire career. Starting as a lift operator in 1949, Melba progressed to the cosmetics department where she worked until her retirement.
She was known for her excellent customer service skills and her ability to turn even small sales transactions into big ones.
The manager of the complex said that during her career, she had educated many people, taught them a lot and had a positive impact on people's lives.
"She is not just a salesperson. She is a mother. She will guide you. She will give you life advice. She is a wonderful person," said the manager.
Melba reportedly decided to retire at the age of 90 because of health problems.
