Elon Musk, the world’s richest person and CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, made his debut at the World Economic Forum in Davos, delivering bold predictions about the future of technology, humanity, and the global economy.

A Borderless Future: Musk Predicts the Age of Robots
According to Musk, advances in artificial intelligence and robotics will trigger unprecedented economic growth. He said that robots will eventually outnumber humans and that AI will be capable of fully meeting human needs.

Musk predicted that by the end of 2026, AI will be smarter than any individual human, and within about five years, it will surpass the collective intelligence of all humanity.

On practical developments, he said that Tesla’s humanoid Optimus robots will begin performing simple factory tasks by the end of this year, with more complex industrial work expected within the next 12 months.

Musk also noted that Tesla has already launched robotaxi services in several U.S. cities and expects them to become widespread nationwide by the end of the year. He added that the company hopes to receive European approval for such vehicles in the near future.

Addressing human longevity, Musk described aging as a “solvable problem”, suggesting that once its root causes are identified, the solution will become increasingly obvious.

His appearance in Davos was unexpected, given his past criticism of the forum as elitist and dull. Musk was added to the WEF program at the last minute, a day after Donald Trump’s speech.
