The head of state congratulated the plant's staff, labor veterans, and foreign partners on this significant event.

It was noted that in recent years, our country has consistently implemented large-scale reforms aimed at elevating the mining and metallurgical industry to a qualitatively new technological level.

Over the past ten years, the industry has attracted approximately $2 billion in foreign investment, and 31 large production facilities have been commissioned. Thanks to the creation of favorable conditions for the private sector, the number of enterprises in the industry has exceeded 150.

During this period, annual domestic metal production reached 3 million tons, with a value of 23 trillion soums. By comparison, in 2016, 800,000 tons of products were produced, worth 1.5 trillion soums.

The industry, which previously supplied rolled metal primarily to the construction sector, now produces 80 types of new products for dynamically developing sectors such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, defense, and energy.

The President of our country emphasized that the work of metallurgists plays a vital role in shaping the modern image of the New Uzbekistan, implementing large-scale creative projects, and developing economic sectors.

It was noted that the country's economy is planned to be transitioned to a technologically and innovatively driven development model, and to increase the gross domestic product to $240 billion by 2030.

Over the next five years, plans are underway to attract $180 billion in foreign investment into the economy, implement $27 billion in social and industrial infrastructure development projects, and construct multi-apartment residential buildings for 800,000 families.

These ambitious goals will increase demand for metal products by 1.5 times compared to current levels.

In this regard, the role of the Uzbek Metallurgical Plant, whose team comprises more than 5,500 dedicated and cohesive employees, was particularly noted.

The new casting and rolling complex will take the plant's efforts to a new level of implementing energy-efficient technologies and digital solutions, increasing labor productivity and product quality.

This complex will go down in history as the country's first project to produce hot-rolled sheet metal.

Once operational, the complex will produce 1 million tons of hot-rolled sheet metal annually, worth a total of 8 trillion soums. This will fully meet the needs of metallurgical plants in Tashkent and Samarkand for sheet metal products. Furthermore, 1,200 high-income jobs will be created.

The head of state expressed gratitude to the builders and engineers, technologists and machinists, workers and employees, veterans, and foreign partners who participated in the construction of the complex.

During the ceremony, further plans for the development of the Uzbek Metallurgical Plant were also outlined.

It was emphasized that the primary objective will be to meet the plant's needs with domestic raw materials. The country has 1.5 billion tons of iron ore reserves.

In the next three to four years, with the commissioning of the Tebinbulak deposit, it is planned to increase steel production to 1 million tons per year.

By enriching the ore from the Surun-ota deposit, annual production of 600,000 tons of iron ore will be established. Construction of a modern metallurgical plant worth $180 million will begin on the plant's premises to process it.

Over the next three years, a $30 million investment will be used to gradually modernize steel ball production lines, increasing their capacity from 250,000 to 500,000 tons per year.

Furthermore, an "Uzbekistan Industrial Park of Environmental Technologies" will be established on the plant's premises.

This year, six projects worth a total of $70 million will begin in this industrial park, producing large-diameter pipes, overhead cranes, and filtration equipment. Their implementation will create an additional 660 high-income jobs.

The President emphasized that metallurgy is a labor-intensive but honorable industry, and the persistent and dedicated work of the plant's team deserves the highest respect and recognition.

It was noted that the knowledge, experience, and high professionalism of the plant's specialists, based on a nearly century-long tradition of mentoring, serve as a worthy example for many workforces.

After this, the head of state pressed a symbolic button, launching the new casting and rolling complex.

A conversation was held with industry veterans, plant employees, and foreign partners.
