A Group of Citizens Granted Early Pardon in Honor of the Holiday

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree titled "On Pardoning a Group of Individuals Serving Sentences, Who Have Sincerely Repented for Their Actions and Firmly Committed to Reform."

According to the decree, in honor of the 32nd anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan and based on Clause 23 of Article 109 of the Constitution, 483 individuals who committed offenses unknowingly, sincerely repented, and firmly committed to reform have been pardoned.

Out of the pardoned individuals, 107 have been fully released from punishment, 275 have been conditionally released early, 7 had their sentences replaced with lighter penalties, and the terms of imprisonment for 94 individuals have been reduced.

The pardoned group includes 25 foreign citizens, 32 women, 5 men over the age of 60, 274 young people (including 104 minors), and 6 individuals who participated in the activities of prohibited organizations.

This event serves as a practical demonstration of the humanitarian policy pursued in our country, reflecting the noble qualities of our people, such as tolerance, forgiveness, generosity, and compassion.

In implementing the decree, relevant ministries and agencies have been instructed to assist the pardoned individuals in reuniting with their families and loved ones, adapting to social life, engaging in productive work, adopting a healthy lifestyle, and finding a worthy place in society.
