A new Director of the Statistics Agency has been appointed

By presidential decree, former Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank Behzod Khamraev has been appointed Director of the Statistics Agency under the head of state. He replaced Bahodir Begalov, who headed the department for almost eight years.
Prior to this appointment, Mr. Khamraev served as Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank, overseeing monetary policy, monetary operations, and statistical research. In the banking system, he worked since 2008, and before that - in the Ministry of Economy.
The new head of the Statistics Agency was born in 1983 in the Bukhara region. He graduated from the Tashkent State University of Economics, as well as the National Institute of Political Sciences of Japan, where he received a master's degree in econometrics and statistics.
Khamraev's appointment is related to the personnel renewal and the strategy for improving the efficiency of the statistical agency.
