A separate structure for localization will be established in the government

At the meeting chaired by Shavkat Mirziyoyev, it was noted that production within the framework of the localization program increased by 34% in the first six months, but things are not the same in all sectors or regions. Although the share of local products in state procurement is 78 percent, it was criticized that some ministries continue to import existing products in Uzbekistan.

Therefore, localization work will be organized on the basis of a new system. The list and volume of the most imported consumer goods are announced to entrepreneurs every month. The Competition Committee examines the region and sector and makes proposals for the creation of new capacities and the expansion of existing ones for products that are lacking in the market. Based on these proposals, a specific package of projects will be formed, which will be implemented in 20 large network facilities or on the basis of cooperation with regional enterprises.

To implement this new system, a separate localization structure will be established in the Government. In general, the need to localize products worth 92 trillion sums this year was shown.
