Administrative Liability Established for Involving a Child in Illegal Religious Education
Under the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. O‘RQ-1035, amendments and additions have been introduced to certain legislative acts aimed at further strengthening the protection of children's rights.

According to an amendment to the Law "On Guarantees of Children's Rights," parents or guardians have the right to raise their child in accordance with their personal beliefs in religious and moral aspects. However, it is prohibited to involve a child in illegal religious education, meaning enrolling them in unregistered or unlicensed organizations or handing them over to individuals who lack special religious education and conduct religious training without the permission of the central governing body of religious organizations in Uzbekistan.

An addition to the Administrative Liability Code stipulates that parents or guardians who unlawfully involve their child in religious education in violation of the law will be subject to a fine ranging from 5 to 10 times the BCU.

Furthermore, if this offense is repeated within a year after the imposition of an administrative penalty, the individual may face a fine ranging from 10 to 15 times the BCU or administrative detention for up to 15 days.
