AI-based biometric identification briefed to President

On 20 December, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Ministry of Digital Technologies. Here, responsible persons reported on the programme for monitoring the use of water reservoirs and subsoil based on space geodata.
During the visit, the President familiarised himself with the conditions created in the office of Uzinfocom, the Ministry's single integrator, and talked to specialists.
"You are our most reliable support in the current reforms. The need for professionals like you will only grow in the future. The country will not develop unless every sector and region keeps pace with digital technologies," Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
In addition, the President was presented with information on projects on biometric identification based on AI, digitalisation of healthcare, and electricity billing.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev was informed about the IT Village town built in Nurabad district of Samarkand region. This complex is aimed at involving schoolchildren in grades 1─9 in the sphere of information technologies and teaching them basic IT skills.
The head of state instructed to build similar complexes in all regions.
