Aliyev Reveals Why Azerbaijan Has Not Yet Joined the WTO
In an interview with China’s CGTN television channel, Aliyev emphasized that despite years of negotiations, Azerbaijan’s accession process faces serious obstacles. According to him, existing tariffs, protectionist measures, and double standards contradict the principles of free trade and hinder the country’s integration into the organization.

The president also noted that Azerbaijan's economy is self-sufficient and ready to join the WTO on fair terms. In his view, if Baku's demands are taken into account, the integration process could accelerate.
