On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Second World War, a new commemorative jubilee medal was established in Uzbekistan. It will be awarded to veterans, war veterans, and home front workers who contributed to achieving the Great Victory.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree on the establishment of the "80 Years of Victory in the Second World War" medal. According to the document, the award will be given to citizens of Uzbekistan who have been awarded combat awards or who have the status of war participants and home front workers.
In the near future, the lists of those awarded will be compiled, and the procedure for awarding medals and paying one-time cash prizes to veterans will be determined. The government and relevant ministries are designated as responsible for the implementation of the resolution.
The award will be held on the eve of the Day of Remembrance and Honor, which is traditionally celebrated in the country on May 9.
