Uzbekistan's national football team played a match in the second round of the qualifying stage of the FIFA World Cup 2026.
In the match, which started at 17:00 Tashkent time, Srecko Katanes' wards played against representatives of Hong Kong.
Uzbekistan's players won 2-0 and brought the number of points to 7.
It should be noted that in this qualifying round Uzbekistan national team got into Group "E" together with the teams of Iran, Turkmenistan and Hong Kong. Iran scored 5 unanswered goals against Turkmenistan. Thus, Iran and Uzbekistan have scored the same 7 points and are ranked 1st and 2nd respectively on goal difference. Hong Kong and Turkmenistan still remain in 3rd and 4th place with one point each.
