On 23 February, Armenian military units opened fire from small arms at the positions of the Azerbaijani army located in the direction of Yellija village of the Kalbajar district, from positions near Yukhary Shorja settlement of the Basarkechar district.
In order to prevent further aggravation of the situation and ensure stability on the border of the two countries, the Azerbaijani military did not retaliate.
The statement notes an appeal to the Armenian military leadership to prevent such provocations aimed at disrupting the stability that has been maintained on the border over the past five months. It is also demanded to identify and punish those who committed these actions.
