The heads of the defence ministries of the Association of Southeast Asian states (ASEAN) countries agreed to conduct joint naval exercises in the Kepulauan-Riau Islands area of Indonesia. This was reported by “Anadolu".

It is noted that the first joint training of ASEAN member states will take place in September of this year.

”In the coming days, we will conduct joint exercises in the north of the Natuna Sea," said Yudo Margono, Commander of the Indonesian Armed Forces.

According to him, as part of the exercises, in particular, joint patrol and rescue operations will be carried out. However, as part of the exercises, joint military operations are not carried out.
