Biden administration supports law on confiscation of Russia’s frozen assets
Political
The administration of US President Joe Biden supported the bill that allows the confiscation of Russian assets worth almost $300 billion frozen in the West. This was reported by Bloomberg agency with reference to the document of the National Security Council.
It is reported that the funds received are planned to be used for the reconstruction of Ukraine. From the document, which the National Security Council of the United States sent to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, it follows that the administration in principle welcomes the law authorising the confiscation of Russian assets.
The bill would provide the powers necessary for the US executive branch to confiscate Russian sovereign assets in favour of Ukraine.
