EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrel has called for an end to the bloodshed in the besieged Gaza Strip.
"We have to stop the killing of civilians in Gaza," Borrel said after his visit to Lebanon and Saudi Arabia.
In addition, the EU representative noted the need to prevent the risk of a regional conflict, which could be triggered by clashes between the Israeli army and the Lebanese Hezbollah movement, as well as an escalation of tensions in the Red Sea.
According to Borrell, it is necessary to act so that the conflict does not take on other dimensions. The only way to achieve this is to find a political solution to the conflict between Israel and Palestine.
