On December 26, the State Attorney’s Office confirmed that a criminal investigation had been opened against Sara Netanyahu. The investigation is being carried out by the Israeli police and the cybercrime department of the State Attorney’s Office. This has been officially reported by the Times of Israel.

She is suspected of orchestrating campaigns against key witnesses in her husband's case and interfering in the judicial process. The investigation began after a report on Channel 12’s program. According to journalistic findings, Sara Netanyahu allegedly asked her husband’s former aide to organize protests and online campaigns against Hadas Klein, a key witness in the case involving Benjamin Netanyahu.

The investigation involves personnel from the Israeli police and the State Attorney’s cybercrime division. The instruction to start the investigation was given by Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara on December 26. Sara Netanyahu's lawyer considers the case politically motivated and biased, calling the investigation a "politicized witch hunt."

MP Naama Lazimi commented on the matter, saying: “The prime minister’s wife has been convicted as a criminal, and as we have learned in the investigation, she sought to harm judicial officials and discredit a witness—very serious crimes for which she must be brought to justice.”

For context, Sara Netanyahu was convicted in 2019 for misusing state funds amounting to $50,000 on catered meals while a full-time chef was employed at the Prime Minister’s Residence.
