The natural disaster has left more than 400,000 households across the country without power.
Powerful tornadoes and hurricanes struck Arkansas, Kentucky, Oklahoma, and Texas, increasing the death toll to 22 people. Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear announced at a press conference that five people had died in Kentucky due to the disaster. Authorities also reported eight deaths in Arkansas, seven in Texas, and two in Oklahoma.
Additionally, more than 400,000 households in the country have been left without power.
President Joe Biden expressed his condolences to the families of the victims in a post on social media platform X. He also stated that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) of the Department of Homeland Security had assessed the damage on-site and assured that the states are ready to provide support if necessary.
