On January 27, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting on the draft State Program for the "Year of Environmental Protection and Green Economy." This year has been declared pivotal for promoting eco-friendly technologies and sustainable economic growth.

Key directions of the program:

Expansion of green energy: Sixteen solar and wind power plants will be launched this year, increasing the share of green energy from 16% to 26%.

Energy efficiency in industry: 400 large enterprises will undergo audits to implement modern energy-saving technologies.

Large-scale reforestation: 123 million seedlings will be grown, 18 new forestry enterprises will be established, and the "Green World" platform will be launched to allow online purchase of saplings.

Support for eco-business: Companies using environmentally friendly technologies will receive the status of "green entrepreneur."

The President emphasized that transitioning to a resource-efficient economic model is not only essential for sustainable development but also crucial for maintaining competitiveness in global markets. The program aims to promote rational resource use, introduce modern technologies, and foster environmental responsibility across all sectors.
